Successful Housing Project

The aim of the three-year Successful Housing Project was to establish networks, structures, and cooperation models in Helsinki and the West Uusimaa wellbeing services county to ensure secure housing for residents who were moving from or had already moved out of supported housing units.

The target group of the project included individuals with a history of homelessness who were moving from housing units into their own rental apartments or seeking rental housing through Y-Säätiö. The goal was to prevent residents from falling through the cracks in service provision, support them during the housing transition phase, and ensure continuity in their housing as the wellbeing services counties were being established. Another aim was to strengthen residents’ integration into their communities and provide meaningful activities in their daily lives.

The project involved developing and piloting mobile, personalized housing guidance and coaching positioned between the housing support and housing advice services offered by the city and the wellbeing services county. In addition, the project explored opportunities to utilize digital services. The project was co-developed in collaboration with Y-Säätiö’s property management, housing advisory services, and rental operations.

The project was funded by STEA.
