Y-polut– Y-Säätiö’s Housing Support for Youth as a Resource for Independence

The goal of the three-year Y-polu– Y-Säätiö’s Housing Support for Youth as a Resource for Independence project is to develop Y-Säätiö’s own youth housing model, ensure the continuity of housing for young adults under the age of 35 living in Y-Säätiö’s housing stock, and prevent youth homelessness.

The project is funded by STEA, and its focus areas are Y-Säätiö’s youth housing locations in Espoo, Kerava, Järvenpää, Tuusula, and Nurmijärvi.

The project aims to develop services and practices that consider the needs of young people. It particularly focuses on resolving issues such as rent arrears and other housing-related disturbances by organizing group activities on the premises and offering multi-channel, individualized guidance for accessing services. The project also enhances resident engagement and makes the existing services provided by Y-Säätiö more easily accessible for young people. The prevention of homelessness is addressed by creating different pathways to housing options and services, adapting to the changing life situations of young adults.

For Residents: Pihapiirit Activities

Pihapiirit is a service specifically designed for young adults that fosters a positive atmosphere and strengthens community spirit at our youth housing sites. We regularly organize various events in the communal rooms of the buildings, creating opportunities for relaxed socializing and making new acquaintances.

We also provide our residents with a wide range of support for other everyday challenges. We offer guidance on matters related to housing and daily living, whether it’s help with rent payment issues or support with work or education matters.

In collaboration with M2-Kodit’s housing counseling and property management, as well as local youth services, Ohjaamo centers, and outreach youth work, we aim to comprehensively support the well-being and daily lives of young adults.

Pihapiirit activities are currently available in M2-Kodit’s locations in Espoo, Nurmijärvi, Tuusula, Kerava, and Järvenpää.

Please keep an eye on our communications via email and text messages to stay informed about upcoming events and services. You can reach us by phone or email on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Welcome to join us in creating a positive atmosphere and strengthening the sense of community with Pihapiirit.
