Y-Säätiö’s Information System is Being Updated – Submit a New Application Starting March 26

Y-Säätiö’s housing application system will be renewed on March 25, 2025. Previous applications will not be transferred to the new system. If you still need housing, please submit a new application starting March 26.


To ensure your application remains valid, fill out a new application on our website starting March 26 at: hakemus.ysaatio.fi. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. Please note that this change will not affect how applications are processed or how quickly housing is offered. You do not need to resend any attachments.

Renewing Your Application


Why aren’t applications transferred?
Our system is being replaced, and old applications cannot be transferred. If you still need housing, submitting a new application is necessary.


How do I submit a new application?
You can submit a new application starting March 26 at hakemus.ysaatio.fi.


I can’t apply online – what should I do?
We can send you a paper application form by mail. Please request one by emailing asiakaspalvelu@ysaatio.fi or calling our customer service at +358 9 7742 5540.


Can customer service submit the application for me?
The application must be completed by the applicant. However, customer service can guide you through the process if needed.


Housing Offers and Application Processing


Will the change affect how quickly I get a housing offer?
No. This change does not affect the speed of processing or housing allocation. Applications are not placed in a queue based on the order received. Tenant selection is still based on urgency of need, asset and income limits.


Do I need to re-send attachments or other documents?
No attachments are required at the time of application. If a housing offer is made, necessary documents will be requested then.

Please note that for data protection reasons, customer service cannot accept attachments directly. However, if you prefer to add documents in advance, you can do so when submitting your application online.

How long is my application valid?
Your application will be valid for three (3) months from the date of submission. If you update the application within that time, the validity resets for another three months.


Communicating About the System Change


I received a text message from “YSaatio” – is it trustworthy?

Yes. Y-Säätiö has sent out text messages about the system change to applicants without a valid email address. The number is legitimate, but it cannot receive replies.

I received a text or email from you, but I’m not your customer. What should I do?

This is likely due to incorrect contact information provided in an application. Please contact our customer service to correct this.


Modifying Your Application and Other Situations


How can I edit an application I already submitted?
Due to the system change, all applications submitted before March 26 will expire automatically and cannot be edited. From March 26 onwards, you can submit a new application and modify it anytime. The application will remain valid for three months from the last update.

I no longer need housing – what should I do?
If you no longer need housing, no action is required. All applications submitted before March 26 will expire automatically as part of the update.
