Y-Säätiö increases its stock of serviced apartments by purchasing 73 apartments from VVO Hoivakiinteistö, part of Kojamo Oyj. The apartments are part of three properties in Helsinki, Turku and Hämeenlinna.

The properties are located in Helsinki at Soittajantie 4, in Turku at Hippoksentie 31 D and in Hämeenlinna at Rakuunankatu 3 A. The properties sold to Y-Säätiö’s Service Buildings are service buildings used by special groups, with a total of 73 apartments.

The apartments in the properties transferred to Y-Säätiö in the deal are mainly leased to Validia Oy. Each property also has service facilities managed by Validia Oy.

Buying the apartments was practical, because Y-Säätiö already owns some of the properties which are being bought now. The properties and partners are already familiar, says property manager Juha Niskanen .

Ownership of the properties was transferred to Y-Säätiö on 31 May 2023. Validia continues as a real estate service provider for special groups also under the ownership of Y-Säätiö. Validia Oy has managed the lease agreements for the residents of the properties. Residents continue to live normally despite the change of ownership.

Y-Säätiö’s mission is to provide housing and eliminate homelessness in Finland.
Y-Säätiö’s operating principle is the Housing First model, according to which homelessness can only be eliminated by arranging apartments for everyone and appropriate support. The store supports Y-Säätiö’s core activities and promotes housing for special groups in Finland.
